A vet needs to perform the ear crop, normally when the puppy is around 9ish weeks old. It's a surgery involving cutting away some of the ear flap and then suturing the cut edges. After the edges are healed and the sutures removed then you the owner start the "posting" process of basically splinting the ears in an upright position until the cartilage hardens and they stay that way. Ear posting is normally done continuously until the puppy is done teething (5-6 months) but sometimes is takes less or more time. You need to remove the tape/posts and re-do them a couple of times a week until they are done.
